Climate and economy
According to the European Network for Renewabl Energy
the current situation is characterised as follows:
Wind power has made a progress of nearly 30% over
the last decade. Remarkable is the dynamic policy and process in
Germany, Spain and Denmark.
Biomass Energy is a high potential energy source.
Unfortunately the use meets not the pportunities given by this kind
of energy. Biomass energy ould make a big contribution to the security
of supply.
Solar power is divided into photovoltaic and thermal
solar energy. The rate of growth in this sector was 57%
in 2004. Nevertheless there are big problems concerning the divulgement
caused by high production costs of the components.
At the moment solar heating is more efficient than
photovoltaik but the the gowth rate is under the requirements. More
political promotion and commercial innovations are needed.
Hydropower is a matured technology and represents
about 84% of installed renewable electricity in Europe.
Geothermal energy is an increasing type of energy
supply. That is due to new technologies and due to changes on the
construction sector. More and more new houses have been built using
geothermal heating systems.

Statistical datas and
studies
There are lots of studies all
over Europe concerning the potentials of renewable energies. All
studies agreed on high potentials for economic growth, caused by
renewables. The following quotation is an example for these results.
It was taken from the Energie-Agentur NRW of Germany.

"Meeting the 20% by 2020 targets would bring along
equally important benefits, such as avoided fuel costs of more than
€ 100 billion, CO2 reductions of over 700Mt/year (representing ca.
17% of 1990 emissions), saved external costs of up to € 300 billion
and extra employment of 2 million people.”
There are to many studies and sources to collect all
information here. Therefore we give the hint to search for your self
using the catchwords
“economic growth by renewable energy Europe”.
All results are in line with the results and opinions
overseas, as you can see on the text below, taken from the online
journal “Pittsburgh Post Gazette.
“Moving to "a renewable energy economy" would create
more than $6 billion in new economic activity, including a $460
million increase in net farm income, and create more then 44,000 new
jobs in Pennsylvania, according to a study released yesterday.
The two-year study, conducted by the University of
Tennessee, was sponsored by the 25x'25 Alliance, an organization
formed to advance the goal of having renewables provide 25 percent
of the nation's energy by 2025. The organization has chapters in 15
states, including Pennsylvania.”

Conclusion
We all should do our best to contribute to a
development, leading to a massive increase of the use of renewables.
